Not to dredge up old missteps( OK,
to
dredge up old missteps), but I remember that one year when you said the Pats had two bye weeks only to see them lose their first game. It was no "Red Sox move into their new, season long home" but still
I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too -

Ah yes, that was during the 2010 postseason. The Pats were lined up to get the Jets and Steelers at home, so I was actually puffing my chest about getting three bye weeks. How do you lose to Mark F^ckin Sanchez in a playoff game?
Actually, I will forever be bitter toward Bill O'Brien for that one. Total system failure on offense to make the proper adjustments to counter the Jets' defense throughout the entire game. It probably hurt the Patriots that they crushed the Jets a few weeks earlier, because they basically tried to do the same things again and the Jets were ready. F^ck you, Bill O'Brien.
By Grabthar's Hammerwhat a savings. -

The Patriots beat the Jets 45-3 on the road in 2010, then crapped the bed against them in the divisional round a month later. No playoff game is a foregone conclusion.
That said, it's encouraging that last time they met (way back in Week 3) the Texans didn't score a point and that tough Houston defense (and it is tough) didn't force a single turnover against Brissett & Co.
But it was a long time ago and the Patriots will still need to take the Texans more seriously than you are taking them here. -

That 45-3 win over the Jets was at Gillette Stadium BTW. They lost to the Jets at the Meadowlands in 2010.
But yeah, anything can happen in the playoffs, you can never be sure of anything. The Texans or the Dolphins could beat the Pats, it's unlikely but the Pats will have to take either team seriously, which I'm sure they will.
Overall I would be very surprised if anyone but the Pats wins the AFC this year.
