What do you think that Joe Madden did that help the Chicago Cubs win the World Series, that a lot of previous mangers have failed to do. And that is including him in his first season with the Cubs in 2015. I mean before Joe Madden took them to the playoffs last year, the last 2 Cubs mangers to do so was Dusty Baker (in his first season only), and Lou Piniella in his first 2 seasons, but in both years they were swept out in the first round of the playoffs.

I think Maddon noticed that he was facing half a team, so he told his guys to go for it.
P.S. Shut the fu_ck up about the Cubs.

Maddon? He made people want to play for him and had the players to do it, due to Epstein.

Two guys under Theo that don't get the fanfare are GM Jed Hoyer and Director of Minor Leagues Jason McLeod. I am so happy the Cubs held onto them. You know teams would love to have them.

I live in the Midwest and it is surprising how many true fans of the game do not like Maddon's on field decisions. Especially related to pitching.
I will admit it took a lot of nerve to leave Chapman in during the ninth inning of game 7. -

He was also the perfect manager for this very very very young team. I honestly thought they were going to fall apart in 2015 and didn't believe until mid August. Not because of talent but because of age. He kept them loose.
Lou was a good manager but that team didn't have nearly the talent this team does. Dusty is way overrated and poophead.
