One thing Goodell has mentioned, and he's mentioned this before, is that they may decrease the amount of ads to make the game flow better. This has been my main point of contention and I hope he follows through.
The other thing I harp on is the completely inconsistent way different officiating crews call games. What's a foul for one crew is acceptable to another. They also need to stop all the phony, bullsh!t excuses and hire fulltime officials.
No trees killed in the sending of this message, but many electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

If anyone has gone to a NFL game the past 2 seasons you see the full effect of the ads. The players stand around more than play.
Now in contrast, go to a high school football game. The flow is so much better. That is how football is meant to be played.

As far as commercials go, my main complaint is when they have touchdown-commercials-kickoff-commercials-drive. It's such a slowdown.

It's not just the breaks, it's the duration of the breaks that're so infuriating. They've been doing that score-break-KO-break for decades but
Team timeouts used to be 1:00; now they're usually 2 minutes.
The score-break used to be around 2:00; now it's usually at least 3:30. Quarter-2 minute warnings 3:30-4:00. Toss in injuries and replays you have a 1 hour game with 40 minutes of action stretching over 3 to 3-1/2 hours, sometimes with 8 minutes (not counting the KO which more than 50% of the time is a touchback) between offensive plays.

Being a full time official does not make anyone see plays better, the other sports have full time officials and they are all equally good/bad. Calls vary in those sports between officiating crews, balls and strikes have varied for 100 years. You think talking about holding and PI for 12 months instead of 6 is going to change anything.

If they want the game to appeal more to Europeans, I think that'd be key.
They aren't used to all those ads in the middle of a sporting event.

Oh, the ratings are better? Thank God! I was so worried they might cancel the NFL!
