True and embarrassing. He was generous in describing the MBTA. The Red Line does indeed smell like piss but there's so much more to add (terrible service, constant delays, rude and stupid employees, etc.)
I've tried so hard to pronounce my r's and get rid of my Boston accent, but I've never been able to. -

You're a Southie, right?
I've lived in areas he referenced and it's as bad, or as challenging, as he describes. You're right about the T. Smelly, sure, IF it's even working. The dang thing was constantly breaking down.

I always felt like ducking driving through Dorchester. My friends from there can't stand the silence of country life. They're used to the constant noise. Really constant!

I can relate. When I moved to Quincy in the '90s (hardly "the country" but close enough if you're coming from South Boston) it took time to adjust to the silence esp. at night. I was used to falling asleep with constant noise/voices/traffic outside my window! The only noise I heard in Quincy at night were crickets in the summertime; I never heard them when I lived in Southie. It creeped me out at first.

That's exactly what my friends have said, word for word lol
I know someone who moved from Dorchester to Middleboro, and she had really bad insomnia. She missed Dorchester something fierce. She said she actually felt safer because of all the noise, that you could hear people approaching, etc. But when she moved, the quiet unsettled her.
Personally, I'm way up in the hicks and wouldn't have it any other way. I went bonkers living in Boston, always the smell of the buses, the Ts whistles, houses too close together, no parking, and I got to know the Logan flight patterns by heart. I had between 2am-4am to sleep, but barely.
I don't know how you guys manage!

There's nothing wrong with having an accent
Anyone who doesn't like someone's accent is ignorant

New Hampshire has strong accents too
I was watching a show on Pam Smart and they all had a thick accent
