The notion seems absurd though tbh. I guess if you hate a special interest group you secretly are one of them. Hate blacks? Must be a closet black guy. I think there's logical ways to criticize these people, not just calling them fgts. That's not very wizard. -

That's being quite obtuse. As Cartman down below explained it is often an outward rejection of an inborn feeling. Say you're a white Christian kid with a strict upbringing that preaches against the "gay lifestyle." If when you reach puberty you find yourself having feelings towards other boys and not girls wouldn't that cause some kind of social dissonance within you? Many people are unable to reconcile these diametric feelings when brought up in a repressed society and so act out in a negative way. I.E., beating up a gay man is essentially beating yourself up, or a way of trying to beat the gay out of yourself.
Now OBVIOUSLY, this psychological condition cannot extend to something like race - it's equally something you don't have any control over as with the genetic tendency towards being gay but your statement is an absurd oversimplification of a very complex social construct.

So your argument is that it's with regards to feelings/psychology not skin colour or another physical characteristic. Okay, so, if you realize you're a pedophile but have been raised to hate pedos, does that mean you'd be more inclined to beat up other pedophiles? Are there widespread stories of men targeting people they think are child diddlers and it later turns out that they themselves are child diddlers? Or is it just when you hate a special interest group that's currently pandered to left and right by mainstream media and academia that all of these super complex issues surface?

It's a pretty well-understood psychological fact that many people who have trouble accepting something about their own feelings react outward as a way of convincing themselves and the world that they aren't lying to themselves. Obviously not all of them but there are plenty of examples to draw from if you want to be specific. Maybe even in this very thread

Actually homosexuality or bisexuality is present to some degree in a larger percentage of people than previously thought. Especially in women this is true as sites like porn hub report that a vast majority of female users search for lesbian porn. It also has to do with social setting/acceptance. Homosexuality is naturally occurring in nature, and has been reported in all manner of animals from penguins to primates to large cats. Ancient Roman and Greek armies were encouraged to engage in both homosexual and heterosexual acts. In a single-gender prison setting, sexuality is shown to be fluid, often by choice. It is really only in places where restrictive constructs such as religion are applied, which enforce a code that gayness is somehow bad, that we see this repression of violent actions against homosexuals.

Agree with some of this but just to add some counter-weight to a few points:
Homosexuality is naturally occurring in nature, and has been reported in all manner of animals from penguins to primates to large cats.
As far as I've come to understand, this has more to do with dominance displays than actual attraction - so rape basically. You don't really see female animal 'partners' but what you do see is one male raping another.
In a single-gender prison setting, sexuality is shown to be fluid, often by choice.
This definitely ties into dominance as well. Also the fact that you are sexual first and hetero/homo second, in the sense that sex is more important than who you end up having sex with, when your opportunities are virtually non-existent. This doesn't have to mean you'd go gay when given an actual choice, even if society was to accept it.
