I mean, does your friend seem like the sort of person who would be willing to drop everything they're doing and spend an indeterminate amount of years of their life with you traveling the world cutting up every single tie in existence? Seems like a lot to ask of a person, even a best friend. Maybe ask if he wants to catch a movie this weekend and slowly build up to the "cut all ties" operation.
Just have faith in the you that believes in yourself.
