I have gripes with the original game on PS2, but I can't deny that the atmosphere was thick, and the game could get really intense if you fcked up. The series had major potential and it'd be nice to see it properly utilized (given that it'd be a nice substitute for Silent Hills)
Outside of that, I never played any of the sequels so maybe somebody who knows better than I could drop their thoughts on the franchise as a whole

I don't think there'll be one anytime soon, the remake for PS3 is probably the last time they'll go back to it..but,theres a better chance of seeing it show up now than there has been in years due to the popularity and influence of games like outlast, amnesia,FNF and various other games like them.
PlayStation has a franchise in siren that would lend itself super well to that type of game (especially with the viewing of the enemies vision gimmick)but,id say the overtly Japanese nature of the series will likely hinder it too much in getting it into development. Id say the closest thing would probably be a spiritual sequel,or another reimagining that's more western friendly from team siren rather than an actual siren game.
I also wouldn't expect it for another 2 to 3 years at the very least, given project sirens development history, and may never occur if gravity Rush 2 does well for them.

Ehhh.Siren in Outlast/Amnesia form? Don't know how I feel about that. Granted the games could've used better gameplay but a lot would be lost in translation if they ditched the slow, stealthy third person style in favor of the the first person trendy style. Plus it'd render the first person jack sight mechanic even more gimmicky than before.
Given its recent rerelease on the PS4, I guess Sony hasn't completely forgotten about it. I wouldn't rule out a possible sequel but I agree that it may be a long while if Gravity Rush 2 does well (Never knew project Siren was responsible for Gravity Rush..Never even played Gravity Rush).
or another reimagining that's more western friendly from team siren rather than an actual siren game.
Sorta like the one on PS3? Sounds like a disservice to the Japanese lore of the original. Not to mention the whitewashing

I highly doubt we'll see it again.
I'd love a return to the series though. Keep it episodic if need be. Bitesize horror can be very effective.

Episodic horror? Sounds like it'd ruin any and all momentum, something crucial to horror imo

Worked well for Siren: Blood Curse. Resident Evil Revelations 2 mastered it though. A week between episodes gave the perfect amount of down time. Horror games that can't keep pace really, really suffer and fall fast. Keeping it tight and short is better IMO. It depends on what your going for. Siren is built around the loop of "Here is the area, here are the zombies, go do it". Everything else gets in the way.
That is of course unless they completely reboot it like Resi 7.

I way prefer the time sheet system from the first two.

Siren: Blood Curse was the remake and last game of this series.
Even this game was just meh at best. The Siren series had potential but at the end it was rather poor.

The Siren series is the best Sony exclusive IP and the best exclusive IP and the best IP period.
Siren: Blood Curse was a remake of the first game and yes it's the weakest because Americans ruin everything.

Siren: Blood Curse was a remake of the first game but still a different game, it was the best Siren game by far it still is an abomination.

Please just stop, it hurts too much.
But as much as i hate to say it i think a new Siren game would be perfect for gasp VR because of the sight jacking mechanic. They could get very creative and make some very effective jump scares (maybe for instance when you sightjack a shibito and he comes sees you as a really messed up screaming jumpscare monster) so players would almost be dreading use it. It would probably be best to permanently fix the camera to first person view also.
The devs are still around so i doubt they want to abandon the series.
I actually spoke to one of the artists who made music for Blood Curse if they are making a new one. and he gave me a really vague answer then deleted his comment. But he was not associated with Sony so i don't know what to make of that.

The original is hard, and that's not the westerner in me talking, look on youtube, there was hardly ever any walkthroughs for it, most people did not play it, or got stuck in a loop and gave up.
2 was a much better, less frustrating game but I can imagine most of the crowds had been spurned by the first game to not want to try with the sequel.
Blood Curse probably helped bring the series briefly into the spotlight again with the additional/replacement american cast but keeping the few essential japanese characters like the blind girl.

                              ^ My story right there.
Having to replay levels and find alternate ways to finish them in order to unlock more levels got frustrating and tested my patience.
I'd like to play the 2nd to see the improvements but it was never released here in North America for some reason despite being released everywhere else. Thatrarely ever happens.

its a very niche franchise. I could only suggest it if your really into the horror genre because the gameplay is not very good, but definitely scary and has some excellent ideas. I highly doubt we will see any more games from the franchise.
