Seems more like a tactical delay to avoid other big hitters around that time, rather than one due to development issues (The game is already out in Japan after all).
If it had originally released in February itd be sharing shelf space with three other PS exlcusives in Nioh,Nier and Horizon Zero Dawn (and to a lesser extent Berserk), though I wouldn tbe surprised if one of those titles gets moved into march instead. -

Xbox still has Sea of Thieves, Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3, Scalebound and likely Forza 7 coming. Plus the best hardware in the biz all in one year. And I bet they'll all come out on time too.
Playstation to continue to feel that drought for 2017. That's why they're getting their asses kicked now. They've been earning it.

Go ahead, list those games that aren't coming out. The only game Playstation will have out on time is baseball. Batter up, kids! Sony's not even trying to win NPD anymore. LOL!

You're aware that your list of games includes Scalebound, a game delayed into 2017, and Crackdown 3 a game delayed into 2017 and possibly no longer existing.
Not to mention a Forza title that hasn't been announced yet.

The PS4 has the best hardware in the business.
Playstation consoles are massively more powerful than the weak Xbox consoles.

Spacing out the release calendar is probably the best thing for all involved,especially when two of the games Nioh and Nier being released in February would have a somewhat similar audience to P5
Everyone would just end up cannablising each other's sales. It's be like the Japanese release equivalent of Titanfall being smashed between BF1 and COD
