Bloodborne Might Be My Favourite Game This Gen

Don't get me wrong, DS3 is a wonderful game and in my top 5 of the generation but I think it had too many humanoid bosses and clunkier gameplay. As good as it is, I much preferred the horror atmosphere and more interconnected level design found in Bloodborne. DS3 felt a bit too linear at times.

Well, I never found the combat in Dark Souls 3 to be all that clunky. You just have to time your attacks right so you can get a hit on the enemy. I will say that the bosses in Bloodborne are more memorable and provide a bigger challenge for the player. Truth be told I may be only saying this because I had help on some of the bosses in DS3. I plan on replaying it sometime after FFXV to see how harder it is doing a solo run.
I'm in agreement with you regarding the setting. Bloodborne makes you feel like you are trapped in a nightmare that you can't escape from. It was horror at its best. The linear design of Dark Souls 3 wasn't an issue for me. As long as the game doesn't confine you to walking in a straight line (cough FFXIII cough) and gives you a fair amount of freedom I'm happy.
On a little side note, I don't understand how FromSoftware do so well with level design yet when it comes to character design thair characters look like they've been run over by a truck.

I agree. Bloodborne is simply amazing. Also, the fights with
Lady Maria and Orphan of Kos (some say Kosm)
in the DLC are among my favorite boss fights ever.

Easily the best game on the PS4, but one of the lesser Souls games, in my opinion. It has a lot of weird design choices.
I can't think of a better video game world to explore on 8th gen hardware.
Wouldn't say that considering how poorly it runs on the PS4.

Bloodborne runs perfectly on the PS4 and it's massively better than all the other Dark Souls games combined with absolutely no effort.
The PS4 has tremendous games and is million times better than the horrendous Xbone and than the irrelevant PC gaming.

I'll look for that shortcut next session, Yoss showed me where it was during his stream.
My friend and I just beat the One Reborn and Micolash.
It's kind of strange because it honestly doesn't bother me that much, but at the same time I feel that the game would be much better if they resolved the vial issue. Having to go to the second lamp in the game, farm there, go back to the lamp, go all the way back to Hunter's Dream, and then in again is just bad design. I know, I know, Demons' Souls had something similar but Dark Souls already figured that one out and did something far better.
Other than that the game really is a blast.
