ANNOUNCEMENT: The definitive replacement for this board has been found

The point of imdb boards is that you can go at any old or foreign movies or even old actors, crew etc and post, the only board like that (for now) is https://www.themoviedb.org with the discuss button next to the movie/actor picture
Correct. I have explored all the suggested alternatives and TMDb is the only acceptable alternative. They only recently re-instituted their boards for individual movies/shows/actors so right now the vast majority of their boards are empty. However the potential for migrating the same type of discussions from IMDb clearly exists.
I would urge everyone to go to TMDb and create an account. In the meantime, before it's too late, you should go to your IMDb account profile (move the pointer over your username in the upper right corner), go to the "Your Activity" page, and copy your own favorite message board posts, and be prepared to re-post those messages and/or restart those discussions at TMDb. (While you're at it, also download "Your Ratings" before IMDb comes up with some bright idea to sabotage that feature as well.)
You can view the ongoing discussion on how TMDb plans to take over the message board mantle from IMDb here:

Thanks for the pointer to an alternative movie forum but I don't care about migrating my posts or even my ratings because their source is out of IMDB's hands
.
Making content you care about (especially any I.P.) publicly available on social media (including forums like these) is a mistake. For example, FB reserves to the right to use anything you post there. I think it's better to link to your own blog or YT channel if this is allowed. Additionally, if you do end up having a discussion worth archiving you can then migrate it there. -

You do realize that ANY site that allows you to post or upload content reserves that exact same right, right????
Which is why I suggested you should consider carefully which content you choose to post online
The exact Terms and Conditions vary between sites but of course, they do exercise some control over your content in exchange for making it available online. The question has always been how much is reasonable. As usual, the devil is in the details.

LOL, that looks pretty good!
But I agree with the other poster. What makes IMDB unique and great is that every actor/film/show has its own message board, that's the beauty of it.

Exactly! That's why these boards are so special. You can go the the message board for a particular film and not have to weed through the clutter of a more generalized board. This is especially true of classic films like the ones shown on TCM.
Here's an idea - get rid of all the general message boards and keep the ones for each film. Maybe that would cut down on the trolling a bit? -

I love films. I like watching the newer stuff but I also enjoy the older ones. Just now, I watched Ronald Reagan & Shirley Temple's 1947 film 'The Hagen Girl' and visited it's board and read through it. But now, when this thing shuts down, I can't do that anymore.
Big new popular shows like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead have their own sites and forum to go to, to discuss, but what about the rest? And are we expected to register on every forum on every show?
Do they even have forums for individual films like tv shows?

LOL they copied the IMDb forums almost down to the letter, not to mention look, feel, colors, fonts, etc. There's even a forum branch called "The Sandbox"

Love the effort, but might wait until the lawyers have had their say. Good luck

The admins say they're working on adding a function to the site in which you could use the Search Bar at the top of the page to look for specific boards, and when they get that figured out they'll start adding boards for specific films and shows.
There's already a site that has all that and more. Check out The Movie Database. A lot of the people from here are moving over there after these boards shut down. It's practically the exact same site as here, and they have now added message boards to all their titles.
