The Shining. Not only my favorite scary movie, but my favorite movie of all time. A true masterpiece.
The Exorcist would be my second choice.

The Shining is overrated garbage. Even a barbie doll is scarier than that movie.
A truly terrible movie.

Dead of Night (its an anthology and not all of the stories are scary to be quite honest. But it has one of the best endings and over-arching arcs that ties up everything nicely)
