πŸ‘ I approve. Some of my own favorites there: La Strada, Nashville, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Five Easy Pieces, M, Lolita, Full Metal Jacket, Easy Rider, etc.

Not a fan of sci-fi or comedy?

I've seen handfuls, but the comedies are never funny, but usually corny and soft. As for sci-fi, I've watched a few, but there's too much emphasis on special effects, or .. whatever, (THX-1138 was one a lot of people liked, but I found it forgettable and boring). People recommended some realistic ones, but I didn't like "The Boy And His Dog" and the others.
I found "Buffalo '66" amusing.. I thought the short scene in "Casino" (Charley M) was funny, mostly because of the emphasis on 'M' and how much it pissed off Joe Pesci, who I think is funny, ala Danny Devitto and any other angry Italian guys. The scene in "Never On Sunday" (1:19:45) mark, where she recites what his books taught her, as she throws it all back at him… I love stand-up, but most of my favorites are dead, and mostly "lol" when I'm watching political streamers be funny, usually from indignation, regardless of political/social disagreements. "Out For Smokes" isn't very popular, but I do laugh during their show, especially the Patreon episodes, which are more "out there"

To me sci-fi movies can be the most interesting. The ones that involve fighting monsters aren't typically that great but the ones that weave science with an exploration of human nature can be profound. Have you seen Vanilla Sky?

I actually saw it in the theater, but I didn't like it.
