I don't know if it's just the fact that I'm at the stage in life where I'm only youngish, and thus able to recall 20s years ago more vividly than I was at age 20. Nonetheless, the first decade of The New Millennium really did seem to play host to an unusual number of gorgeous actresses who also possessed considerable acting talent, yet ultimately vanished right as they seemed to be on the brink of stardom. I'll start the list off
Elisha Cuthbert: It's tough to remember now, but there was a time she was on the cover of every lad mag damn new every other month, and regularly making Askmen's Top 20 women of the year list
Nikki Cox: Beautiful woman who could bring the funny with the most top-flight comics in the biz. Her very whereabouts seem to be unknown now
Amanda Rightetti: Really looked poised to make the jump from TV to film stardom for a brief moment
Diora Baird: Like Nikki Cox, a knockout with immense comic timing. Last anyone saw her was a cameo in Cobra Kai
Heather Graham: She'd just turned 30 as The 2000s rolled in, so perhaps this is pushing the limits, nonetheless she also seemed poised to rise to the heights once occupied by Jolie, Meg Ryan, and Kidman. Bowfinger and The Spy Who Shagged me where the closest to mainstream fame she ever got though
No doubt there are more, but I can't think of any now. Someone else jump in here with some names -

LiLo's kinda sorta resurfaced. Never understood the appeal behind Barton, and the story of her fall is by now pretty well documented, nonetheless…. Yeah, that was a sad tale all the same. There may be a case for putting together a dossier, titled The Curse Of The OC, at least as far as the actresses go

Mischa and Spencer were IDIOTS to gamble away their money because they thought the world was going to end in 2012. They ended up doing a ****ty reality show about their relationship just to pay the bills when they used to be WEALTHY. Sad really. Really sad.
