….do they do that for dead relatives in their own family?
Like would they send out an email or text to all surviving family members wishing Uncle Ted a happy birthday even though he has been gone for 15+ years?
Just seems like an odd ritual to wish the dead a happy day when they can no longer have any more happy days.

You haven't died so you don't know if they enjoy their birthday in a non physical form or not so shut up.

It seems happier to remember birthdays rather than deathdays.

          News from the year 2345:
Ancestors of The Elephant Man have put in a bid to buy the bones of Michael Jackson to his ancestors.

. They’ll probably be thinking “Man, this Michael Jackson guy must have looked weird!”

That's funny that you wrote that two days ago. I wished Richard Warwick happy birthday yesterday and he passed away 25 years ago. I suppose I did it to express a sentiment and to make myself feel something. I do find him precious. But I don't necessarily think that Richard's spirit is hanging around these parts.
                Though you never know.

Hutch, don't let the naysayers and the poopy heads get you down. If you like wishing a happy birthday to celebs who are no longer with us,
                  go for it!
