Can anyone recommend thrillers which they feel are under-appreciated or good ones which are nonetheless obscure, please?

      Tough combination, obscure
      and
good, but this is fairly good and fairly obscure:
      Death Valley
      (1982)

Nightmare (1964). Made by Hammer Films, which were known for horror, but this is more of a thriller.

I remember seeing this one as a kid and the floating bodies really made an impact.
I am going to check out The Baby. I don’t believe I have seen that.

I would say "The Baby" is an odd movie. But if you can get past a bit of the initial awkwardness, it is fascinating. Ruth Roman gives an excellent performance as an all-out bitch.
It's also a very hard movie to categorize. But then a lot of movies from the first half of the 1970s were.
If you do watch it, you have to tell me what you think of it!

"Night of the Demon" (1957) and "The Witches" (1966) are both excellent scary movies.
