Name one– McCartney. Lennon. Jagger. Plant. Nicks. McVie. Slick. ANY singer who is not black.
None of them used vibrato or vocal gymnastics.

When I first heard her on the radio, I thought she was a guy. Even when I found out she was a 'she', I couldn't wrap my head around that she was a woman singing. I thought she sounded like a man for some reason.

I remember her in Fearless. She plays a broken down stewardess survival of a plane crash who tried to help Rosie Perez but couldn't. At the meeting of the survivals, she tries to reach out to Rosie and Rosie slams her and she (Stephanie's character) breaks down and starts crying as Rosie yells at her and blames her for the death of her son. Powerful acting.
