You would think people on the Borat boards would know a thing or two about the movie, but everyone on here is completely clueless how the film was made, lol.
Borat and a few others including Pam Anderson were acting while everyone else had no clue they were actors. For the most part yes their reactions were genuine. Their were many lawsuits involved after the film was released because many of the people were upset when they found out it was all for movie purposes.

Based on information from wikipedia about lawsuits and stuff from the movie, a lot of the people were told it was a real documentary and signed papers agreeing not to pursue legal action..but of course it wasn't a real documentary and Borat goes out acting all crazy.

was he one of those people who flipped out on Sacha Baron Choen? Or was he actually a reasonable person and see it for what it was? Do you know? Just curious
If you are talking about the driving instructor, I'll have to say that he was pretty cool. I laughed a few times at his witty replies - that scene is definitely worth watching. -

I was wondering about this also. Even though this "gypsy" scene is one of my favorites in the movie (so many good lines in that bit), how could it
not
have been pre-arranged? He just
happened
upon a yard sale with a Baywatch book? Also, the woman seems unusually tolerant/polite/unfazed at being called a gypsy, being accused of shrinking people and taking over their home, having her tears demanded from her. Hahahaha. Such a great scene, though.

Exactly.
Show me a reactionless woman like that in real life, and I will show you a living, pink unicorn that can build time machines that transform into interdimensional spaceships.
Even if she wouldn't have started screaming his head off and hitting and kicking him (women are just as violent as men, if not more), she would have REACTED in some way, because that's not the kind of talk women are used to hearing from men in this matriarchal feminazi world, where men are always shown as the bad guys, and women always the angels who can do no wrong. -

"My neighbors know the driving instructor personally. Their kids played sports together years ago. And no, he had no idea."
People nowadays treat each other far too serious XD. Maybe they should watch more comedies? XD
Seriously, I guess most of the guys on the film were friggin' scared of the ugly tall madman and were doing everything not make him angry. Which was quite clever of them XD
Seriously, please first see any Bollywood stuff before you call any other film stupid XD

By the way, I know it looks real, and most of it is, but remember that a lie is nothing else than a half truth. I heard from a LA producer that she knew that a lot of the scenes were prearranged with the knowledge of people involved; like i said, again, i didn't say everything, but a lot of it was fake.
This was a big disappointment for me, and I believe it's possible because Sacha was found lying about Bruno too: in the scene with the supposed "terrorist" he translates with subtitles that say something different than the real meaning, and so he edited everything to make it look his way. In his search for shock value he ruined the reputation of a Christian hard-working middle-eastern who even appeared in the news complaining about it, and apparently everybody knows him as a regular guy in the area.
I wonder if there is any coincidence that Sacha is zionist himself, destroying an honest "gentile". -

Am I the only one who thought the "Gypsy" lady at the yard sale was actually kind of hot for her age. I mean she had nice tits and appeared to have a nice a$$ as well. The face wasn't that bad either.
