Spaniards are white.
I don't see how one could consider the Spanish non-white, but consider Italians or Greeks white. They are all Mediterraneans.
I will admit that it's funny how the US media portrays full blooded Spaniards like Antonio Banderas, Penelope Cruz and Julio Iglesias as non-whites.
The Spanish are white, and you would probably be accepted into the KKK as long as you didn't walk into the Kleagle's office speaking Spanish (because of connotations with illegal immigration and the U.S.-Mexico border issue). The modern Klan is very weak and has had to make various concessions for certain groups and form alliances with Neo-Nazis (who hold a decidedly pro-European (Imperium) and anti-American viewpoint), despite the fact that it is supposed to be an American patriotic organization. Nowadays they would make Martin Luther King a Grand Wizard if he was against Mexicans and Arabs. -

Ahh, see, I really do not know a whole lot about the KKK!
I've always just thought they disliked anybody that had a little bit of brown in their skin!
Thankfully I have not had anything in the way of interaction with racism of that magnitude. (do the KKK exist in the UK or are they largely concentrated in the US?)
Just always thought if you're prejudice enough to hate somebody due to skin colour you're probably not going to be sensible enough to stop and think about the finer details.
I can't imagine a member of the KKK stopping to have a discussions with a darker-skinned caucasian about their heritage to determine if they should hate them or not! -

A lot of those Klan members in the South have tanned skin as well, considering they have manual labor jobs working outside. It's where the term "redneck" comes from.

This is where you got it fundamentally wrong. The real KKK is never about hate, it's about segregation on racial lines, precisely to
avoid
racism. "Each with their own government" would be a summary.

It wasn't too long ago that even white wasn't white. Iberic, teutonic, keltic, slavic, nordic.

You are right, the KKK has had to adapt, but since race is almost entirely a social construct it wasn't that hard for them to do, even if their doing so basically disproves their entire basis for existence. -

The KKK did not make so much of a race issue with S. Europeans as a religious hatred. The main targets of the KKK were African Americans and Catholics. Spanish are Catholics as are Italians. Greeks being non protestant were also enemies. Jews of course as well were targeted.
The KKK destroyed many businesses of non-Protestants -

There are plenty of people that don't. Sicilians are a good example, with their kinky hair. Some only consider aryans "white".

The is debated as to whether Greeks, Spaniards, Portuguese and Italians are "White" in the commonly used form the term. Caucasian? Yes. White? Maybe not, unless you consider Arabs, Sephardic Jews, Turks, and Iranians "White". It's not me, it's just the usage of the term. In North America, it's used for people of Western European origin (North Western European to be precise).
