I noticed it while watching Audrey in The Children's Hour.
Her scream is beautiful, her cries are beautiful, her anger is beautiful.
I thought, Audrey conciously never chooses a role where she looks ugly throughout a film. My Fair Lady, she dares to look ugly at first as Eliza. But the transfirmation happens within the first 20 minutes of My Fair Lady. She's beautiful again?
I just think that perhaps Audrey relief you much upon being beautiful to get roles. The audience has to recognize her face.
Such a shame as i would have liked to are Audrey go against type.

I don't know what to tell you, she was just really beautiful so it was hard for her not to look it. She wasn't even "ugly" at the beginning of My Fair Lady or stuff like Sabrina or Funny Face where they were trying to make her look homely for the transition later.
