I only just realised when watching this movie for the 40th time that gale hid a camera in the house where the finale takes place. Even if billy and stu had carried out their final plan everything would've been caught on camera and the police would've eventually found it right? We never see the camera getting removed.

I like this movie but the way the killers just become drolling morons when they reveal themselves borderline ruins the movie. They're intelligent enough to get away with multiple murders and emotional torture - without getting caught - then they go full retard.

Gale might have recovered the camera before the cops ever found it and she used that evidence to write her book "The Woodsboro Murders"
Would she have given the camera to the cops after she had gotten all she could from it?
