Here are some other logic flaws.
When Marty shows up claiming to be a space man named Darth Vader to scare his dad in asking his mom to the dance won't his dad later on when he first sees Star Wars go, "Darth Vader? Wait a sec."
And he treats getting what he thought was a visit from an evil spaceman as no big deal!
Later on when the parents have a teenage son they will be like, "Have you ever noticed how Marty looks, sounds and acts just like that fellow kid we knew who was so involved in our lives in the 50's?"
"Right. And now that I think of it I never saw him in any of our classes."
"Let's check the year book. See if his picture is in there."
Other than that, yeah, great fun.
I think the first is the best and is good enough as a stand alone film.
The others are decent that have their fun moments which then turn out to be dumb and even more unrealistic than the first one but yet somehow it becomes acceptable anyway.
Like a flying train is too much though it is only at the very end so it's OK.
I dunno how they did it but somehow this summer weekend box office popcorn SFX flick became a blockbuster and created a perfect blend of making a small franchise of time travel hip and fun with a script and that duo which we have yet to see recreated again.
Sure, there have been other movies made about time travel but none of them are the household name as BTTF is.

True. Time travel is a catchy genre. Have you seen Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve? It was a good try but really flawed. My favorite TV show on that subject is Quantum Leap.
