    have you heard of this
    there's a missing girl in my area and I heard about them because they offered to help the search. apparently they do this all over even though they are HQ'd in baton rouge

      Yes, but I didn't know they searched for missing people outside of stuff like hurricanes and floods. They usually travel to places affected by natural disasters.
      I think they came about because official disaster search and rescue was slow and ****ty. There are a lot of people with boats, so community helped community, and it eventually expanded.
      There's a documentary about them I've only watched bits and pieces of… naybe multiple.
