You don't have any room to talk, this is one of your recent comments on a different board,
" Oh, but trolls behave like you are behaving. You make a criticism without offering anything specific. It's what non-thinkers do."
So yeah, you understand how it is to find a reason to be rude to someone!

You appear to have a much higher opinion of yourself than the facts in evidence would justify.
It's not rude to speak the truth.

The Green Mile
is a good film, but
The Shawshank Redemption
is better imho! And both
the people and the critics
agree with me:
The Shawshank Redemption
9.3 on IMDb and **** from Roger Ebert
The Green Mile
8.6 in IMDb and ***1/2 from Roger Ebert

People are eager to share the thoughts of the majority when it's in accordance with their own but quick to dismiss them as irrelevant when they say different, it's not a good practice.
Roger Ebert is no better than any other critic just more of a household name his opinion is worth no more than mine neither is anyone who votes on IMDB, also consider the green mile is much more depressing in people's minds which could effect how they feel about it negatively a little bit when compared to a movie that makes them "feel good" like SR.
Also Shawshank came out first and people LOVED it and heard the same guy was now doing another movie and a Stephen King book no less and starring Tom Hanks at the height of his popularity and even Tomas Newman returning for the score, hype would have preceded the release people came in with great exceptions now realising the potential of this team, this good never be a favourable circumstance over Shawshank which caught many people without warning and no hype at all, which as we all know is a much better way to go into a flim.
Is there even such thing as objectively good art? that alone is highly debatable but one thing isn't that whatever the majority says is not a mark of quality just popularity which has many elements (like the two above) which affects it that are unrelated to quality.
Everyone I know who has seen both movies likes the green mile more and some of them by a very large margin (myself included) does that mean, it's therefore better? no, not at all but personally the first 2 maybe 3 times I seen Shawshank I was bored to tears but then it did grow on me and now I like it but don't love it. -

NOT EVEN.
The Green Mile is a mess. This movie is a minor classic.

I like but don’t love Shawshank, a beautifully shot movie, a;ways engaging, with a great performance by Morgan Freeman (and a rather dull one no Tim Robbins) which patches together just about every cliche from earlier, sometimes but not always better prison movies.
I pretty much loathed The Green Mile, so I disagree strongly with the OP.
