Does anyone else think that Michael knows more than he told the police in the suspicious circumstances surrounding Stuar

Yeah, thats what made me suspicious! At the end of the day, if you havent5b4 got anything to hide, then there is no need to lie! And didn't his ex wife come forward with footage of him on holiday swimming in the sea!?!? Can't remember clearly, was years ago now!

Yeah, I heard about that too. Not too sure what to think yet, but obviously one of them is Michael Barrymore. Personally, unless there's some new evidence or someone has coughed up a confession, I can't honestly see what this is based on. Maybe the police hope the arrests will spring someone into a confession, I don't know.
I've got the greatest sympathy for the Lubbock family, and I completley understand why they want to pin the blame for their son's death on someone, but I suspect they haven't allowed themselves the scope to see the full picture. If I was in their position, I'm sure I would feel the same as they do, but all the evidence in the public domain is circumstantial and doesn't appear to substantially point to murder over an accident. It must be awful to be part of the family in this situation, but the way Barrymore has been hounded over something which, essentially, he could very well be proved to be totally innocent of, is kinda disgraceful. I don't mean we should feel sorry for him in the classic sense, I just think the witchhunt is bordering on vile.
If Lubbock was murdered, which I'm in no way saying I believe for sure that he wasn't, then I hope this new development brings some closure to everyone involved in the case. It can't be fun to live through this from anyone's perspective. I guess I just can't see the Lubbock family settling for anything less than a murder conviction, and surely it must be evident this far on that, even given today's events, this might never happen. And not because of a bungled investigation, or because there is a television personality connected to the case, but because there is no one to convict of murder simply because no murder ever took place. It's a very real possibility that this could have been just a very tragic accident.
Don't get me wrong, if it's proved that Lubbock was murdered, and that Barrymore was involved, I'll be queuing up with the rest of the country to condemn him, and so we should. Maybe I'm just being old fashioned in thinking that someone should be given the benefit of the very substantial doubt. You know, innocent until proven guilty and all that?

You make valid points, but the police don't just arrest people because they feel like it, or want to force a confession. Obviously the media doesnt know every single piece of evidence or every statement that has been taken, and i think it is completely wrong to accuse michael barrymore of any involvement, without there being a trial, being charged, etc. But there is still a part of me that things he must know more than he is letting on. It was his party in his own house after all! And the arrest today has confirmed that for me even more.

Well apparently, he was alive when he was pulled from the pool, so who knows what the hell went on, I suspect we never will. But Michael Barrymore has been released anyway.

I understand what you mean about the family, the one thing that does point to murder or at least manslaughter is that Stuart Lubbock's body had signs of severe sexual assualt

looking at the evidence they can tell if it was consensual or not, because the damage is different. -

Even that is dubious, there were a couple of people at the hospital who said there were no injuries sustained in that area when he was brought to the hospital. Strangely they were never called to speak at the inquest. If those injuries were caused post-mortem (ie when he was in the emergency room), then that's hugely significant. I don't know either way, but it seems to me that there are some people involved who want to believe he was raped or whatever, when the opposite could be true. The sad fact is, this guy took 238drugs and this could easily have been an accident. No evidence seems to point to one thing over the other. The family will probably have to accept that at some point. Of course it's hard, but that's just the way things are sometimes. Does anyone know if the family have accepted that Lubbock took drugs? Or are they claiming that he never took them consensually?

It was something to do with taking the body's temperature. I'm not familiar with the procedures, but I remember it being said in the press on multiple occasions. Somebody who was in the emergency room actually stated that this could've been the case, and I think someone (I don't know if it was the same person) said something about there not being evidence of the injuries when he was brought into the hospital. I don't know what the truth of the situation was, but I think it has to be significant that something of this nature was reported.

there not being evidence of the injuries when he was brought into the hospital.
Well, no, because they were internal. They may not have been immediately obvious to someone not looking up his bum.

I'd say it was an orgy gone wrong and everyone was so stoned that they couldn't deal with the accident in the pool.
Sad story but I don't think murder and all that jazz was involved.
Unless Jimmy Savile was at the party too
