Female or male has nothing to do with it.
They have not been referred to as Stewards or Pursers or Stewardesses by the airline industry or by the flying public for a long long time. Their title is Flight Attendant, and it has been since way before 1990.

John doesn’t use the term, it’s another character.

still a female flight attendant right?
a male flight attendant might be called a "steward".
i personally don't mind differentiating people by their sex. it helps with the mental modeling of the world.

              Sure, if it was 1980.

right. but just like people have been trained to call husbands and wives "partners", we've been trained to call stewards and stewardesses "flight attendants".
it's progressive to lump everyone together these days. one step closer to becoming just a number in a material world.

Yes, a character calls the stewardess ‘stewardess’, as was commonplace in 1990.

if we can't use our manufactured, presentist views to judge people from the past, how will we prove ourselves superior?

                        Wrong.
Only a character living in the past would do that.
The Association of Flight Attendants had been representing the flight attendants for 10 years by 1990, not "the association of stewardesses."
By 1990 the FAA had been writing FARs related to criteria for flight attendants for ten years. In 1990 the FAA was not writing FARs regulating criteria for "stewardesses."
By 1990 the flying public and the airline industry and the FAA was referring to flight attendants and not stewardesses. But since you have never been part of the flying public, all you have to go by is a couple of low rent inaccurate movies. And that is why your entire world view is so completely misguided.

Die Hard 2 is simply backing up what everyone who is aware of early 90’s air travel terminology already knows. Even when faced with that evidence, you still assert that people should ignore it and just accept your utter bullshit rewriting of history.
So far you’ve managed to convince a grand total of 0 people. Not me, and not The Vagitopian. You’re doing great kiddo 🤣
