It has all the characteristics of a ponzi scheme. I've requested a refund because despite the devs saying they have a stable version of the game, it continues to crash my PC or just not play right.
The twitch streamers they were using as product testers and were paying those twitch streamers, is part of the ponzi scheme. The game has always been under construction for many years now while Indie Stone lures potential buyers into purchase the game. That money is used to fund more developers who never really work on making the game stable.

I wouldn't call it a Ponzi scheme but the fact that people will pay for an uncompleted game only incentivizes the developers to never complete it.

Think in terms of video game profits.
        How a Ponzi Scheme Works
Solicitation: The operator promises high returns on investments with little risk, often targeting specific groups.
Payments: Initial returns are paid to early investors using money from new investors, fostering trust.
Expansion: Early investors, happy with the returns, often invest more money or recruit friends and family, allowing the scheme to grow.
Collapse: When the flow of new money stops, or too many investors try to cash out simultaneously, the operator can no longer pay the promised returns and the scheme collapses.

What happens when the game crashes your PC?
