You don’t need to get so defensive. I have just told you that it is ok to put your tree and decorations up now if you wish.
Just don’t be surprised if people think that you’re a bit simple or trying to desperately bring some commercialised happiness into your life.
Hey…TO EACH HIS OWN as they say. You do you. -

About the children? You may be right, but we old folks still appreciate the magic.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

Christmas is for everyone. It is a celebration of the birth of Christ our savior!! Gifts were given to the Prince of Peace..so we just carry on the tradition. That is what Christmas means to a whole lot of people.
But you and the others omitted Jesus from Christmas and made it a kids holiday and about spending money giving out gifts, spending time with family and decorations. THAT is why you feel spiritually empty during Christmans.

Of course, the birth of Jesus Christ is what Christmas is all about.
I was referring to the happiness and wonder children feel at this time of the year. It's fun to still feel that magic when going out to see the lights.
Another part of Christmas is continuing the family traditions, like special family recipes, handed down through generations. I still have my grandmother's chocolate cherry cookie recipe, written in her handwriting , and each year that I make them, I think of her when I make them for my family.
Christmas is also about family memories and continuity when bringing out those special ornaments and looking at those family Christmas photos of the loved ones who passed down the magic we felt as little children.

All that is secondary though. It is like going through the motions in my opinion. Christmas became just another fcukinh holiday for me. I stopped caring about it all. I see family throughout the year. I see friends througout the year. I taught my son my chicken fried steak recipe a few months ago. He cooks it for his roommates now. They loved it.
I had my christmas tree displayed since 2024.
But it is spiritual aspect that made filled me with joy this holiday season.
The birth is Christ
is THE ULTIMATE BIRTHDAY.

Yes. I suppose that the sentimental feelings that we have at this time of the year are secondary.
It takes Christian faith to get through the difficult times.
Hang onto your faith.
I'd say that you have the true Christmas spirit.
