as a seasoned turntablist myself, I have to agree that the Krush section was the most memorable part of the doc, despite it not being the normal scratch routine. - Amazing!!!

Man, I'm here to join the club! Only found this documentary a few months ago, rewatched it just recently and absolutely love this segment. It's not beep up Pendulum for sure, I'm getting all New Flesh for Old albums to see if I ever get anything close to it. Krush is magnificient, anyone that can recommend anything along those lines of what he played on Scratch (preferabbly from Krush himself) I'll make sure I give it a go. Peace.

I am so pleased to see all the commotion, investigation and intrigue surrounding that DJ Krush track. I own the movie "Scratch" and sometimes I watch it just for that performance. I think it is "Toastie Taylor" but I don't know the name of the song. The vocals aren't laid over a particular track. I've been to 2 Krush shows (I met him at the first one) and only at the second was he mixing like he did in the movie. I must say, when I heard it, I couldn't believe it. Just goes to prove that KRUSH is probably one of the greatest hip-hop djs/artists that ever lived.
I'll keep scouting for the song and post again if I find something.
P.S. As if you all didn't know, KRUSH is touring again (Oct. 2007) - you never know, you might just hear the very same track.

Whoa. That earlier post was right. It is "New Flesh for Old"! Damn!
Also - check out (if you haven't already): DJ Vadim, DJ Food, Amon Tobin, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Massive Attack, Underworld, Cut Chemist, Rae & Christian, Lamb, Leftfield, the Orb, David Holmes, J Dilla, MF Doom, GZA. (Xen Cuts - a Ninja Tune (3-disc) compilation is also a necessity).
And remembershhhop as usualand avoid panic buying.

Dude, I'm telling you. It's "186,000 Miles" by New Flesh For Old.
                      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djVcShHuR8w
DJ KRUSH was playing a cut from that song in "Scratch". Specifically, the verse by Toastie Taylor.
He mixes live at his shows anyhow - he doesn't just play his albums. Both shows I've seen were live and direct.

I'm assuming that this has been cleared up by now, but for any that haven't found it, (like others have already said) the version that Krush spins is the instrumental mix of 'New Flesh For Old : 186000 Miles'.
                        It's on vinyl here:

Hey guys, look! After 20 years this maestro below found the FLUTE tune that was mixed in by Krush, I confirm the authenticity! The legend could be mixed again:
New Flesh For Old - 18600 Miles Exclusive Instrumental
                          +
                          Paul Horn - Forms
                          Who's going to dare?!

The track is in fact 186.000 Miles with a track by Paul Horn called Forms scratched and manipulated over it.
