Something I think doesn't get picked up on enough.
I don't think Doreen is Carter's niece, I think she's his daughter. When keith has been beaten up and is lying on the bed and he has a go at Carter, he says "Frank said you were a s*** and he was right. You even screwed his wife, didn't you? The poor b*****d didn't even know if the Kid (meaning Doreen) was his!"
Later on when Carter watches the porn film, he's crying tears because he knows its his daughter in the porno. Also, he's keen to look after Doreen and she that she's doing alright at the start of the film after the funeral. He doesn't just throw money at her, she's about the only character he cares for. He says "Be good" to her and asks if the family she's going to stay with are good "church-going" people.
Thoughts?

But yes, it's heavily hinted at that she's his daughter.

Yeah, I'm going with Doreen is actually Carter's daughter. That goes a long way in explaining why his revenge in the film is so goddamn harsh and sadistic.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

The one guy even said she might be Carter's.
Carter's own reaction to the porn film felt more of a reaction as a father.
But then again, the way he said bye to her was a bit like an uncle.
