The people of new york state do not have the power to recall any elected official, nor does any state legislative body. removal happens by ballot, bullet, death by nature, or resignation. if none of these obtain, then the governor has the sole power to remove an elected official. Unlike the US constitution, the state legislature has no voice in any of this.
of course, the offical must get properly served and given a copy of the intended action; and the official gets to make their case for remaining. BUT i dont think there's any legal challenges open: the gov has the right to proceed once the formal process has finished.
NYC holds a minority of the state's population, but NYC receives a majority of the states budget. The newly elected mayor's policies will further reduce the population, making this relationship even more unjust for the state.
so the gov ought to impeach Zohran for the good of the state.
it's time to make precedent. -

It's really unnecessary to put any more stupid ideas in $Trump's head.
He already has enough of those.
Oh, did the Supreme Court now start about $Trump's crazy tariffs?
It's a hearing today…Let me check. -

On what grounds and under what precedent is there cause for such an action, other than personal dislike of the elected official?
If you can’t say something nice, say something clever but devastating. -

Zohran Mamdani is a

Then my deepest apology for my stupid statement before. bloody blush
I knew that Mamdani is a muslim…but Hamas supporter?!?!…eeeeeeek!
He won't be able to keep his campaign promises anyway and will most likely fail.
However, now I completely agree with you:
Mamdani shouldn't be allowed to govern NYC for a single minute!

The newly elected mayor's policies will further reduce the population, making this relationship even more unjust for the state.
That remains to be seen. Thousands of Trump haters were going to flee the US last year after the election. Most of them are still here. I suspect the same is true of most Mamdani haters in NYC. A lot of huffing and puffing after the election, but they'll get over it.
so the gov ought to impeach Zohran for the good of the state.
That's not going to happen, nor should it happen.
If Mamdani runs the city into the ground, the voters will remove him in another four years. Give the guy a chance.
