Just finished watching Poetic Justice. It truly is a bad movie. The only good thing with it is Tupacs performance and Janet Jacksons title song. Janet doesnt fit in the role and the story is lame. Tupac is perfect though. John Singleton must have been drunk when he made it.

"NO, Just trying to make a "love jones"(black love)flick".
"What the hell? Love Jones came out 4 years after Poetic Justice, lol"
Love Jones is a figure of (ebonic) speech that goes back to long before either of these movies. It's like a black way of saying "love story" or "love affair". You could also have a "love jones" for someone (as in have a crush on them).
That's what he meant.
You're an embarressment to white people everywhere, lol. -

What do you mean by Janet's title song? Are you talking about "Again"?
I completely disagree though. The movie is actually my favorite of all time. Its not perfect, but it has a lot of heart and its very simple. I think some people try to look/dig to deep in it to find the meaning. If you cant find it/dont understand it than its no wonder you/people dont like it lol And I also think Janet did a wonderful job. She had losts of chemistry with Tupac, Regina King and Joe Torry. -

You know, when I watched Crossroads, I was likethis is kind of like Poetic Justice except the acting is not as good lol
Maybe its just a coincidence but remember when Lucy (Britney) is writing poetry in her book? And the guy goes "What are you writing?" and Lucy goes "Stuff," Thats pretty much the same exact dialogue in Poetic Justice with Justice and Lucky in the truck except it was much more bitter. I think there was another similar line but I've only watched Crossroads once so I dont rememberwhere as I've seen Poetic Justice a million times I know it like the back of my hand lol -

Keep in mind that Spike Lee had released Malcolm X a year earlier, so he probably just wanted to go in a different direction all together. Even though this film dragged in the middle at times, I thought it was a commendable effort, and as stated earlier, I thought J.J. and Tupac handled the roles well.

The story was ok. I think it could've been developed a little bit more. But I thought the acting between the 4 main characters was so intense and very believable. Especially the scenes between Joe Torry and Regina King, they were amazing.
