Is that the best insult you have? 😆
You're the one asking us dumbass random questions about a horror movie that doesn't require higher logic skills to understand. It's pretty much straight forward.
And out of all the fans, and scholars who've interpreted the film itself and Kubrick's direction along with book critics,, none of them discussed such a dumb question.

The movie departed widely from the book.

It sure did and Kubrick’s perfectionism ended up revealing more flaws in his process.

As a standalone and looked at as a separate work apart from the book, it was good horror. As adaptation , it failed.

It was unusual horror as Kubrick saw it. It wasn’t exactly raw and gritty terror.
Apparently Kubrick liked Tobe Hooper’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre - ‘74, which is a raw as they get.

You mean TCM? Watching it has never been easy. I feel the same way during The Shining's opening then it gets a little better. Compared to the Texas heat and cannibals vs being snowed in during the winter with an axe wielding Jack Nicolson?

Shining does start slow, but it’s a gradual entry into the horror. I liked how it got in your head.

TCM is far superior. The Shining is ultimately shallow mindgames.

So as Kubrick was filming in England, he decided to cast English actors and not change their accents, even though The Overlook was in America????
