On the face of it, he has a strong argument. Liberals are careful about gender and disability-based slurs. Also, what am I doing here Monday morning? Shouldn't I be saying to a class of awed youngsters: "Please turn to page 156 of your Northon Anthology. We will be looking at 3 of Donne's holy sonnets today"?
I am myself somewhat puzzled by the whole business.
