cringe.
Gen Z cycles through identifies without deeply identifying as any of them. But dressing up as and copying poses from photographs of John and Carolyn is so weird. Get your own identity. No Gen Z influencers could be remotely anything like John and Carolyn.

The one ingredient thatβs missing is why they were iconic or whatever in the first place back in the 90s and in large part it was because of Jackie O and of course JFK and all of that. May they rest in peace but without that theyβre just another famous couple from the past. Nothing amazing. Just hyped from that new movie.
Donβt get me wrong. They were beautiful and their death was tragic but they were rather ordinary if it werenβt for Jackie etc.

Well yeah. They were American version of royalty.
Something else about them was that they were effortlessly glamorous and cool. Didnt try at all. Both of them just did their own thing.

It's hilarious to me that Gen Z calls regular 90s style "old money style" or associates it with people like JFK Jr and CBK.
I think everyone looked better in the 90s.

The closest thing the '90s came to "old money
style
" was that the '80s and '90s was pique YUPPIE when the people out of college were buying houses and many had that trans-Atlantic accent or that "boarding school drawl" and vernacular, the kids graduating high school were buying their first cars and by college, they were moving into big modern homes, setting off on high-paying career jobs and driving Jaguars.
New money and old money style are very different.
