I don't know if anyone is perusing this message board, but I have been trying to locate a copy of Poto and Cabengo for some time. I have tried many good video stores and none of them has a copy. Apparently it's out of print.
Does anyone know anywhere I can get/rent/buy/borrow either a VHS or a DVD?

We are in the same boat. I have never seen this movie, but am very interested in the topic, and will be keeping an eye out for it. If I find out anything I will post back here. Will probably be even harder for me to find though, as I'm in Australia.

I saw the film at a UCSD film class. The director works on campus.

Looks like we're ALL in the same situation. If you still can contact the director of this documentary, ask him to post the movie online somewhere (piratesbay is the bes site for such file sharing).

Hulu Plus is showing it now.
Hulu Plus shows a limited number of Criterion Collection movies, and the movie is available as part of a DVD set at the Criterion website.

If you're American and you don't want to fork over $20, you can take advantage of your local library's inter-library loan services. Quite a few large university libraries have this on DVD.
