They internally consider their answer before audibly communicating it where an extroverted thinker may audibly rephrase the question if they have to think about their answer at all.
Internal versus external modes of thinking.

Introverts are more careful with the info they divulge and can craft more thoughtful replies but the other edge to this sword is, they fail to solicit external opinions. Humans are social and different humans can lend more thoughtful insights; an extrovert can infuse their own thoughts with helpful opinions gleaned from those who may be better versed in the topic at hand.
So it’s Situational

Introverts are more selective with who they talk to and probably dread stuff like small talk or talking in big groups of ppl. Extroverts typically have no issue with that and don’t mind talking to strangers even it is only at superficial level.
But I don’t agree with introverts not wanting to be introverts. The only downside I can see is that they can be perceived as rude or disinterested in ppl and aren’t automatically as likable as extroverts are. I think that’s one thing I envy with extraverted ppl. -

Not necessarily. Extroverts also lack confidence. Most put no thought into what comes out of their mouth because they are so indecisive they will look foolish to others, but by blurting out the first thing that comes to mind, they do sound foolish. It’s self defeating.
If you can’t say something nice, say something clever but devastating.
