It's mostly other Brits that hate that accent. I find it adorable. I gotta wonder if there's a bit of classism or something when it comes to hating scousers.
All the people looked down upon in the UK are the least boring. -

The Scousers of today are very different to those of the 60's and 70's. I mean there are, of course, lots of great scousers but there are also a lot of scumbag drug dealers and criminal types from Liverpool.There are lots of variations on the Liverpool accent, the accents of the Beatles are quite mild in comparison to some of them.
The funniest accent is probably the Birmingham accent.

Scouse is the only one I generally have a difficult time with, but I do my best.
This actually reminded me of that scene in Coupling where Jeff meets a woman from Israel and she speaks Hebrew, so when he's chatting her up, she can't understand a word he's saying. Then, when they do the "playback" as to what that conversation sounded like to her, it sounds like confusing gibberish.

In the exchange with the Israeli girl, "to her", which is the point of this exercise, he sounded like he was speaking in total gibberish because of the communication gap. So, it was less of an accent issue and more of a language barrier. I wish I could find a clip of the conversation from her viewpoint. In an interview, he said he was just speaking random words, but it really did sound like he was speaking a mix of Italian and Spanish. (Heck, it even made a lick of sense to me!)

Jeff was the best thing about that show Lilith
I don't think I watched it really after he left
But yes, Jeff didn't sound like anything "To her" because she didn't speak a word of English (Hard to believe for an Israeli educated woman, but whatever)

To think that the writer of the show, Steven Moffat, started out on Press Gang and ended up doing Sherlock. Who knows what's ahead for him?
Also he likes mozzarella, tomato and basil ciabatta with an Americano coffee for his lunch

I like it. We’ve got someone at my work who’s from Manchester, specifically the Hyde region. I do not like her accent at all! It sounds very rough around the edges and uncouth.
