as i see it, given my engineering background, it's one of those billion dollar ideas that may need 5 billion dollars invested in it before it even sees a dollar, if at all.
also, there's no incentive for anyone to invest in it from an investor side point if view.
you even said that you're more interested in making money. take that view and multiply it by 1000x and you'll better understand how venture capital works.
public organizations are only interested in control.
regardless, I'm not really saying this for your sake because i know this must be a trolling attempt. I'm just stating it for posterity. -

I've got a background in the field he wants to break into so I can say with 100% certainty that his cost is about 10x higher than currently available tech for a fraction of the production. And that's under the best case scenario assuming his idea works at all which is pretty generous.
