Yep, they're blatant hypocrites. So what's new?!
There was a saying about Ronald Reagan back in the day that went something like this: "Reagan wants to take government off our backs and put it on our fronts". That saying is even more applicable today. Reagan, who had authoritarian tendencies, at least knew his limitations and never tried to be a full-blown dictator. Trump wants federal law to override state law on issues like immigration, abortion rights and education. Talk about "big intrusive government"! Trump is everything the GOP and conservatives used to rail against; thankfully, there are still some on the Right (a small but growing number) who see through Trump and his bullshit. -
