    Maybe most all white kids?
My mom wasn't supposed to feel she had to work. It was only to be in the world socially, and it didn't used to require a degree. You could quit whenever you want, after you have accomplished being hired.
I was pressured my dad didn't deserve to get a great pay raise or "promotion."
Most kids if they didn't have money for certain things or a certain amount of kinds of things … were still negotiated with and could have their future.
Of course, any kid should be able to learn piano. They would just get a keyboard, if they really wanted to, eventually. More evidence is in group piano classes in high school, other things… I think anyone can even take it seriously. Kids can learn well, too. I know in my experience I saw at least one girl at one school whose hormones were very popping out.. She seemed more skilled and expressive than me or than I could be or rather would draw upon myself to be. I simply felt berated for not getting in sooner. My parents made such a big deal about what I did. I guess my problem was if they didn't give me what I wanted, I stopped wondering about it, since I wasn't alone in my room, with a table, like when I was like 7, 8, etc. I was wondering about dancing all the time, though, as a kid in the 90's… It was like I WANT to be a top artist classically painting scenes but also whatever else was floating around. Even Hollywood comes up. Me a big secret was that I said I was singing at 5. My parents didn't seem to understand, and at 9 I found out about private lessons in choir and was creep 'ed out. I even had to come back and ask my parents again at 7. My aunt got me some tapes at 6 my mom put on over and over, though, and I certainly noticed then. She acted like I didn't want to do it, but I told them at 5, specifically, "I want to sing." Maybe, he didn't "get it." My mom said to tell my dad. He was sitting at the kitchen table.

Nobody expected me to take violin or anything else. If they had expected it they would have been very disappointed.

Well, obviously, as everyone knows, I wanted to be able to play piano NICELY.
My parents often breached about not being able to afford "dance." It "came out" and they acted like they cared and regretted it most.

How were her "hormones popping out"? What does that mean?

It means she had feelings. She did seem rebellious and to me only racist.
I was also jealous I saw young violinists fingers seemed to talk, shifting, but I didn't want to be THAT WAY as that specific person exactly..
