No. I think he's rated quite accurately, as a borderline hall of famer by virtue of 2 SB rings and longevity.
I can think of a lot of guys more overratedCam Newton (he may have his second really good season eventually), Dan Fouts (I'd take Eli over himmost people wouldn't) Troy Aikman (weak stats..game manager supremebut shouldn't have been a first ballot HOF pick), Dan Marino (just because there are still people who say he's the GOAT, which is ludicrous), Joe Namath (obligatory mention, though I think he's assessed pretty accurately nowmore for what he did for the AFL and the popularity of the game rather than for having a truly great on field career),
but top of the list would easily be
Michael Vick

Michael Vick??! Who has ever said Michael Vick is a great QB or belongs in the HOF? He was far from great, he was a decent QB who had a few good years, he was never even in the top tier of NFL QB's.
Troy Aikman was a good QB but no one ever said he was one of the best. He had a ton of talent around him and that's why he won 3 Super Bowls, but he was a terrific game manager and he wasn't a turnover machine.
Cam Newton got a little bit overrated after last year, but he has had a decent year this year and has had a decent year every year of his career, he isn't elite but he is a good franchise QB, just injury prone and cocky. No one is overrating him right now.
Dan Fouts didn't have the talent around him that Eli did, but he put up really impressive stats especially for the 1980's. Throwing for 4800 yards in 1981 is amazing, and Eli has only thrown for more than that once in the modern era when those stats are much more common. He was a turnover machine as well, but had he had the talent and the luck that Eli had, he would've won a Super Bowl.
No one thinks Joe Namath was an all time great, but he did pull one of the greatest upsets of all time in the Super Bowl 3 and helped the popularity of the NFL out.
I don't think anyone believes Dan Marino was the GOAT, he never won when it counted but he was a terrific QB who had some brilliant seasons and is definitely one of the best QB's ever stat wise, he turned the ball over a lot as well but he put up amazing numbers.
Eli Manning gets a ton of hype and gets put into the same category as Brady, Rodgers, Brees and Wilson. And it is because he is a Manning and has gotten lucky and played with a ton of talent and as a result won 2 Super Bowls. -

Plenty of people said Vick was great, from Michael Vick on down.
Do you follow the NFL at all ?
He was extremely overratedextremely overhyped.
The question was who is the most overrated QB in history not ''which QB that people say belongs in the HOF is the most overrated in history''.
But I'm sure Vick would tell you he belongs there too, if you could decipher his Ebonics.
Dan Fouts had great receiversdon't know where you're getting the idea that he didn't.
Aikmanwhen you get in the HOF in your first year of eligibility, that is exactly what they are sayingyou are one of the best.
As for Marino, plenty of people say he was the GOAT.
Makes no sense but there you have it.
Go to any Marino highlight video on youtube and read the comments.
He has extremely devoted fangirls.
I never see anyone say Eli is the equal of Rodgers or Brady or Brees. But. Wilson ? I think it's just as nuts to put Wilson up with those 3 as it would be to do so with Manning. He hasn't done all that much yet

Dan Fouts never had the defenses that Eli did. I know he had good receivers, but his defenses were what kept the Chargers from the Super Bowl during his prime years.
Michael Vick was certainly overrated for a few years when he was with the Falcons and yeah he was more overhyped than overrated, he got a ton of hype and never lived up to it.
No one thinks Aikman is anywhere near the GOAT. The HOF doesn't mean much IMO, any QB that wins 3 Super Bowls, especially a Dallas QB, would get in like that and he did belong in, but show me one person that has said he is in the same league as Brady, Montana etc.
And you seriously take what YouTube comments say seriously? That place is a cesspool like the Yahoo comment section is.
Wilson clearly belongs in the elite QB category. This is his 5th season, and he has made the playoffs every season, making it to 2 Super Bowls, winning one. He has played just as good as any QB over the past 5 seasons basically. -

I do generally take people seriously when they state their opinions about such matters, yes. On youtube or anywhere else. I can't see any motive for people to say Dan Marino was the best QB of all time if they actually think it was Peyton Manning.
If you did a thread here who is the greatest QB of all time, I guarantee that Marino would get votes.
Obviously no one says Aikman was the GOAT. But , AGAIN, putting him in the Hall of fame in his first year of eligibility says he is 'one of the best'. There is no other way to interpret it. YOU SAID :
no one ever said he was one of the best.
Hall of Fame voters said precisely that. It's silly to argue otherwise. Just for comparison, Fran Tarkenton, who held the major passing records when he retired, had to wait two or three years. Kurt Warner will have waited 3 years IF he gets in next year. Bob Griese, who had a career very comparable to Aikman, game manager on a stacked team, had to wait several years. I would rate Griese above AikmanGriese's stats for his era are quite a bit better than Aikman's within his.
Wilson may or may not belong in the ''elite'' category todayit depends how big you make the category. (And if 'today' means 'this season', the category would have to be HUGE. It would have, like, 18 guys in it.) All timeno waythat's laughable. He's not even close. The other three you mentioned are obvious, lock, first year of eligibility Hall of Famers. Russell Wilson may or may not make it at allit's hardly worth talking about at this point. Eli Manning, on the other hand, WILL make itit's just a matter of how long he waits. I'd say 6 years tops.
