Would have loved to have been in a theater with a cheering audience when this scene hit in 1975!
The build up from, "Show me the tank.", the music swelling up as the shark charges at Brody, to the climax of, "Smile you son of a bitch!" Followed by the explosionβ¦.
Expertly directed, and edited. Doesn't get any better. -

This Below isn't from 1975, It is from a Screening of the Movie in 2011 but I hope that you like it.
This Video Below is a Theater Reaction which I think was back in 2013 (I may be wrong about that year though).
Also, This Below is actually indeed Audio of a Crowd Reaction (in 1978) to 3 Different Scenes from "
JAWS 2
" (somebody posted the 3 Scenes the Crowd was Reacting to on a screen and put it in sync with each other). -

Pretty sweet videos.

I'm sure this was a wild series of movies to have seen in both 1975, and 1978. To put one in that mindset, this was all, basically, breaking new ground, and there was no such thing as oversaturation with shark movies. Unlike now, back then not many had been made.
If anything, the JAWS 2 video that used audio synced up with the video perfectly exemplifies what the "theater experience" was like for people who wanted to see a spectacle. Which both movies provided.
Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't.
