I think this was easily the best of the series. I loved the Lovecraftian plot. The characters were less annoying and more likeable. The castle location was great. Very Roger Corman like. The blind dead themselves have very little screen time, which adds to the tension and buildup, so when they do appear, it means that much more. Afterall, in Jaws, we hardly ever got to see the shark, which made it a better movie!
ALso I liked the fact that this movie left out all the stupid lesbian-rape-sex scenes that I thought were unnessary in the other films. And the movie itself had less plot holes than the other films.

I'm not sure it's the best of the Blind Dead Series but it's a contender. I'd say all the nudity helps, even though there wasn't enough of it.
Beautiful and busty Susana Estrada is wasted early in the movie as a sacrifice to the ancient Templars, when they were still alive and human.
Busty Susana Estrada's implants are betrayed when the head knight Templar rips her bodice apart and her breast assumes an odd, 'squeezed' shape as if it were made of clay. Unfortunately, full nudity was not yet a feature of Euro-horror films at this time. It would have been nice to see 'all' of the lovely maidens.
Another poster said this fourth installment of the Blind Dead series had a H.P. Lovecraft 'feel' to it, and I agree, given its gothic, moody, atmospheric seaside coastal town mystery to it. You just naturally sense something unnatural and supernatural going on.

I'm sure you're not, but you sound like a horny fifteen year old.
          To the OP,
I have trouble picking my favourite of the series because they all have something different that I really dig them for. Also, while do recognize that it was a pretty bad movie technically, I think that
          The Ghost Galleon
has some of the best eerie atmosphere of all of them and I absolutely love the setting and concept. I suppose if I had to pick a favourite of the sequels,
          Night of the Seagulls
          would come out on top.

I don't know if this was the best sequel but the the women in this one were the best looking of all the four movies. Too bad there wasn't more nudity.

I agree with the person who said The Ghost Galleon had excellent atmosphere. That was the best part of the movie, for me, and the total sense of dread. But anywho, I would definitely rank "Seagulls" as my favourite of the sequels. "Return" is very good, but seeing the Templars moving around everywhere, unlike the first one where they were used more sparingly, sort of lessened their impact. Not by much, just a little. It was like Freddy in Nightmare 2.
These are all nitpicks though. Overall, I really enjoy all 4 parts thoroughly (save for Ghost Galleon: the acting, the obvious low budget)

Return of the Blind Dead is my all-time favorite entry, but this one serves as a really strong and worthy closer to the series.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
