I am in a state of being that cannot be defined as dead or alive. This could be due to the fact that I am a virus and am therefore on the borderline of what we consider to be a lifeform. Another such instance would be an AI that has grown sentient. Can we really consider such a being to be alive? These are but 2 examples that put into question the strict binary of life and death. I can't list all possibilities so it might be best for you to reply and provide details if this applies to you in order to keep this poll option sensibly short.
