What's happening in the UK?

To cook in the street and give what is cooked to others, in the UK, requires a permit Lilith
If they used their garden it would be a different story altogether.
Elsewhere in the world this is a fairly normal thing to see and take part in
Yup, that's a messy street and is unsightly. Also illegal to do that.
But this is about 'embracing cultures' and punishing anyone who points out that they would be punished for doing the exact same thing.
I don't really know the solution to it all. Either everyone can cook out on the street or nobody can.
That's the height of it really
Trollies(Shopping carts) are often cut up to make them into grills here in the UK. Smart thinking really but also illegal

Ahh, I see. So, because they are "grilling" out on the street and not their backyard, that is what makes all the difference. If they were to do this privately, in their garden or backyard, even if it was still being prepared for public consumption, they would not need a permit. Is that about right?
What was alarming was that it was all being cooked over toxic trash burning beneath it. People are just walking up to these "pieces of meat" and slicing off chunks. I can't imagine what kind of poison is being smoked into that stuff.
Based on the conduct and behaviour of those meandering about, this reminds me of parts of Seattle over here where there is no rule of law and people are living in filth out in the open making the entire area dangerous for everyone. It just spreads, like a disease.

It's a cross cultural and generational thing Lilith.
Most people in the UK (About 20 years ago) would see that as some sort of den of iniquity with drugs, sex trafficking and planned violence all being brought together.
They've have been right too. I know because I was into that lifestyle
Beyond being a place where exploiting for personal gain exists though, there is also community. Different people from different backgrounds exchanging stories of the past and hopes for the future. The way people normally are when given the opportunity.
But nowadays people are scared to insult others about their cultural differences, so they don't say anything. I don't know why, lots of things can be learned by pointing out how you find them odd and people telling you that they find what you do odd too.
So for those fresh into the UK this could be a very pleasant party and something to photograph and send back to their home nations with friends being jealous and talking about how lucky they are. For some this is a great networking tool for various opportunities, some of them criminal. And for others this is an illegal assembly which threatens their security.
All of them are right and wrong at the same time. The only thing people should be concerned about is safety.
Which is where we get into Britain proper
Food safety should shut the place down. Cultural safety and heritage respect tops that. But not for every community. Sailors from the Hebrides can't smoke their mackerel in the street without a permit, but folk from warmer climbs overseas can kill a lamb in public.
And the poor police, well they are trying their best to follow orders and those orders generally only punish people with light skin at the moment.
Either everyone chills and legal tensions are eased for all, or everyone gets treated the way that those with lighter skin have to and abide by the social contract like everyone else does.
There is another option, but that comes with zero safety for anyone and isn't a good idea

This is why I posted the video below the OP which shows what life under Starmer will mean. It's total authoritarianism. People are being put in jail over WhatsApp messages or tweets. There's a bill being discussed (as per that video above) to jail people, even if they don't do a crime, but if certain people even think they
might
do something - something as innocuous as hurt someone else's feelings.
The practice of imprisoning people over thoughts, we're getting into Tom Cruise and the pre-cog thought crime area. This is dangerous turf.
When a country opens its borders and allows or encourages invasion by peoples who do not respect the culture of the country, that is certain death to the native people and their way of life. Everything is being lost in the name of not wanting to risk hurting feelings. This is an example of death from within. This is what happens when people do not protect their land and their citizens. There is a distinction between welcoming kindness and apathy combined with coercion.

I assume you are referring to Lucy Connelly whose tweet calling for asylum hotels to be set on fire was reposted 940 times and viewed 310,000 times. Worry about your own backyard where women are being treated as commodities and being kept on life support for the sake of a fetus, where child victims of rape are forced to give birth, where women are viewed as second class citizens. Jesus Christ just **** off with your holier than though attitude.

Enoch Powell prophesied all of this long ago.

Did he? I'm not familiar. However, this is not a unique or abstract conclusion.
People all around the world have no problem sticking their nose into American politics, but if an American expresses an opinion, suddenly it's heresy.
I watched Americans speak to various UK and EU auditoriums about the loss of free speech and what repercussions will entail. It's sad to see that free speech is dying a very painful death.
I've heard where people praying in their own homes may even be considered "illegal" in some areas. Make this make sense. It's barbaric watching people be punished for simply expressing themselves.
Whether in the UK, America or anywhere in the world, this is what happens when you import the third world and try to act like their high and mighty saviours.

That is such a delicate line when wanting to balance
discrimination
from
discernment
. These are not the same thing. We all need to retain one without the other being an influence. Globalists are cheering on the loss of individual countries retaining what makes them so unique and special.

Starmer was actually getting some heat recently as he was perceived to be copying Powell to win back some popularity:
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/may/13/no-10-defends-keir-starmer-language-immigration-speech-enoch-powell
But we know Starmer is just a leftist, spineless wimp who will say anything for a fiver:

Starmer confuses me because he seems to say one thing and then do the total opposite.
From what little I know of his actions, I think he will show to be a dangerous individual. Then again, I am not living under his governance, so I can only share my observations.

Nigel Farage's new Reform UK party have been winning the UK polls for many moons now. There's going to be a radical shake up at the next General Election, and Starmer's popularity is at an all time low.

It's a rare situation going on in the UK at the moment Lilith, that's for sure
We have British people of Jamaican heritage being proud of poets and their 'Roots' and Indians and Pakistanis walking together with Jews and Palestinians past Irish bars and Italian eateries.
It should all work out well enough, but this leftist authoritarianism has to go. It's one signed bill from gassing people for their genetic heritage and that's a dangerous game to play when AI is what has to interpret data

I agree with this. It doesn't
have
to happen. It never
had
to happen. But as long as people are going to allow themselves to be governed by authoritarian means, this is only going to get worse.

It's the whole "Sheep have to be led" idea, but by a sheep
Maybe, just maybe, when we stop thinking of ourselves as anything other than wrong by nature, we might just be humble enough to understand that leading is not a position anyone wants to be in - just has to be during the hard times
