Who is to say they were even built by the egyptians? Maybe they discovered them and took credit. They were clearly used for harvesting energy and the egyptians didn't even have anything electrical!
I think they were built by an "advanced civilization" and they were used as a way to tranfer energy from here to mars and vice versa, but in the process mars got scorched at some point due to a malfunction. Ppl on earth never recovered from the loss and/or died due to impact of it and life on this planet reset. Again.
It's gonna reset again bc humans are dumb and don't pay attention to **** all they have discovered

it is my understanding that they have found organic materials inside the stones, as if they were actually geopolymer and not simply carved.
many also think they knew of ways to soften the stones for cutting.
