Oh boy u r in for a treat - watch the 2nd ans 3rd - those two and the 1st are the best in my opinion, they'vre very gritty but ace!

The seventh was the best, IMO. Or at least equal to the first. We see Jane Tennison's character more in the 7th than we do in any other of the series except possibly the first.
It has a very high rating on IMDB, so I am not alone in thinking that 7 is top notch. Now the 6th one wasn't terribly good, but still head and shoulders above anything else on television. -

This really was my all time favorite Prime Suspect. The rent boy one with David Thewlis was pretty amazing as well.
They so missed out by not making a movie out this series with Mirren in the lead. I know they talked about it but, of course, they always wanted some bigger name to replace her. That would have been a monstrous sin. And I am not exaggerating. I wonder if they think she's big enough now?
btrjr007, you are so right about Touching Evil. That first 2 parter with the creepy scientist and the boys was simply brilliant. Better than most any movie of recent years. Paul Abbott is a wonderful writer. -

I watched the first season and really loved it. But the subject matter of the following seasons were sooooo intense and raw that I had to give it up. I was actually really very uncomfortable watching this show. So back to my Boston Legal dvds!

bode well.
Helen Mirren is a great actress, even though she looks like my godmother.
And my godmother wasn't at all suited to be a police detective.
On Filmboards already are a few episodes (with strange subtitles) and the trailer looks good too.
