In 2022, when Prevost served as bishop of Chiclayo in Peru, three victims reported alleged abuse to civil authorities following no movement in the canonical case they filed with the diocese. The victims claims that Prevost failed to open an investigation and sent inadequate information to Rome, while the diocese allowed the priest to continue delivering mass, the group claims.

I dunno.
Are there any priests that did the right thing and report it?
Because we donβt hear from those that might have.
No matter who they picked as pope IMO there is a good chance they would have dug up some dirt on him no matter what.

I read something similar. Something feels very "off" with this selection. We need to wait and see how he does the job and give him a chance. I'm not familiar with all of the circumstances. He's so young as well, which means he'll be Pope for probably another 30 years barring something catastrophic.
I've also never, ever seen the Conclave concluded so quickly.

This guy is 69 years old. Benedict was the oldest pope/former pope when he died at 95. 30 years is extremely unlikely.
Also Benedict and Francis only took a couple days each at the conclave. Leo got elected on day 2 so it fits right in with the others from this century.
Then in the 1900s John Paul II took 3 days. John Paul I was 2 days. 1963 took 3 days. 1958 was a bit longer. 1939 also two days. This is all pretty standard. Especially when you consider that almost all of the cardinals eligible to vote were appointed by Francis. -

So where was I incorrect? He is
young
at 69: true. He
could
be Pope for another 30 years: true, he
could
live to be
99
given one lived to be
95
. This was the fastest
I've
seen the Conclave conclude: 2 days.

I was surprised by how fast it seemed too until I looked it up and saw that it was the exact same length as the other two conclaves in my lifetime. I think the one from the movie last year was longer. For any first timers out there it would be the fastest they've seen.
