Keith was the first and best BF vocalist.
My ranking: Keith > Henry > Dez > Ron (Chavo) > Mike Vallely
They all had their good points. Mike might actually be better than Ron (better vocal range and Mike has a Rollins vibe to him), but Ron was the band's vocalist in The Decline of Western Civilization and on the classic Jealous Again EP, so there's that. He was only in the band briefly during 1980 and then came back for the terrible reunion album in 2013 and was subsequently fired by Mike (on Ginn's orders) during a show in Australia.
Ginn's post-BF work was always interesting but Black Flag will always be his best band. Gone was a good instrumental band he did in the mid-to-late 80s. -

Without Ginn, there would've been no Black Flag though, and no "Nervous Breakdown" or "TV Party" or "Rise Above" or "Slip It In" or any of the other great songs that Ginn wrote.
Without Black Flag, who knows what direction punk/hardcore would've gone in and who knows if Henry Garfield would've become "Henry Rollins" and gone on to bigger things (unlikely).
No SST Records either.
