I totally agree about the nudity. I actually liked the second "Wishmaster," possibly more than the first, and the third was still worthwhile. But the sex scenes here were completely gratuitous and unnecessary to the plot, such as it was.

There's nothing wrong with movies having some sense of sexuality to them. The fourth Wishmaster was a delight to watch. I don't know why people are so uptight with sex on one hand and then have absolutely no problem with gratuitous violence or politics. It's criminal.
This movie was innovative and fun, and creative to boot. When I first saw this movie I completely didn't expect the angle they used in this movie (don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen) and it blew me away. Wishmaster 2 was unimpressive, Wishmaster 3 was flat-out awful, but this movie may have been the best of the lot! -

The golden rule in this genre: if you're making a beep horror movie, at least have a ton of gore and T&A in it!
I play cards with J.D. Shelnut, chief of PO-lice! So kiss my ass, you old bastard! -

It was pretty formulaic if you ask me. Horror movie sequels (especially once they hit the third or fourth) tend to become pretty bad (and often straight-to-video), and end up having to use nobodies and low budgets, so they usually resort to lots of sex and nudity (as though that somehow makes the movie better).

I was taken back by all of the love scenes and stuff in this movie, but then again this is first Wishmaster movie that involved love in a wish made by the "waker" so I can understand it. Cause a lot of people including Hollywood believe that love and sex go hand in hand so it's not totally out of place in this movie.
A boat that floats on water can also sink in it. -

Well I don't think the sex was that gratuitous. Remember the big deal about her and the boyfriend was that they really really liked sex, and after the accident he couldn't and it shattered their relationship. Then the sex with the djinn was about her finally being able to have it again because she really relaly liked it so much.
I could agree there was too much sex in relation to gore, or rather that this movie had less serious gore than the first two movies.
And I think the reason some people are more ok with gore than sex is because one is more likely to be replicated by youth. Despite all the 'shootings' news I'm sure there are a lot more teen pregnancies/std's than kids crushing hands or cutting off noses.
